ARTIST BIO
I am inspired by nature; most of my materials and subject matter originate from the Great Sacandaga Lake Area, the Adirondacks and my childhood home, the Mohawk Valley Region. I also digitally restore photography at my home studio, Silent Jane Salvage. I love to travel but I am a proud native of Upstate New York. I sometimes produce my ┬ęSilent Photography using only the types of photographic editing techniques available in a darkroom. I also paint digitally, utilizing computer techniques to enhance the final image. In some cases, I build my work from multiple photographs to create a collage of texture and light. Drawing on my education and experience in drafting, the graphic arts & interior design, I enjoy restructuring & embellishing while honoring the original form & aesthetic of my subject matter. An environmental advocate, I often incorporate found materials in my work.
