ARTIST BIO
I was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1956 and was given my first camera at the age of nine. Three years later, my father, who was going blind, taught me how to process black and white photos in a makeshift attic darkroom. For the next several years, I made photography my main artistic pursuit. At 18, I entered the Rhode Island School of Design eventually graduating in 1984 with a fine arts degree. My first design job was at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where I learned to produce museum catalogs and exhibits. That experience led to 25 years of similar work in New York designing publications, exhibits, and promotions for major museums, institutions, and book publishers. A few years ago, I returned to producing my own images. My art studio in Port Chester, NY is equipped for oil painting, silk screen printing, Piezography and platinuim/palladium printing. My passion for photography continues to fuel all of my work.
