Critique Omar Columbu...'s Art
ARTIST BIO
An Air Force Veteran with over 12 years of honorable service, Omar is a photographer, poet, and activist living in New York City. From humble beginnings, after high school, he enlisted into the United State Air Force where he traveled the world and served on combat deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Today, art is his therapy. He writes poetry to heal and he uses photography to reconnect to the world around him. Through photography, he pulls himself through anxiety and depression brought on by his service in the hopes of helping to inspire other Veterans and bring awareness to the benefits of art therapy for combat veterans. Omar's works here on YAG have been featured in two group exhibitions this year at the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club in Manhattan. "New Yawk State of Mind" and most recently, "US Soldier."
